Biotivia Transmax

Biotivia Transmax claims to provide many health benefits including extending youth, improving cognitive function, helping to protect against heart conditions and managing weight. At a hefty price of $75 for a one-month supply, consumers may be expecting to find the fountain of youth in this bottle! This product is formulated using 98% Trans-Resveratrol which is the purest and most effective form of Resveratrol. It also contains BioPerine^® which is clinically proven to aid absorption of Trans-Resveratrol into the body’s cells. However, the actual dose of Trans-Resveratrol is only 500mg. While this is standard for many brands, we had hoped that for $75 per month, Biotivia Transmax would have a more powerful dose. Overall though, we like this manufacturer and feel that they formulated a decent option. 

When reviewing this product, we were pleased to see that all the ingredients are pure and natural. We appreciated the fact they included ingredients to aid absorption, which is something many manufacturers overlook. Unfortunately, we felt that they were simply lacking in dosage by including half of the amount of Trans-Resveratrol that our Editor’s Choice contains. Additionally, there is no mention of the source of this formula’s Trans-Resveratrol. Both of these indicate that the efficacy of Biotivia Transmax may be lower than expected. Because of this, we would have hoped to see an extra boost of Polyphenols, but that too was lacking. 

Interestingly, when we perused customer reviews, we found a recurring complaint about a timed-release formula of Biotivia Transmax which is no longer available to purchase. Customers seemed to have been pleased with that product and found the current product unsatisfactory and not worthy of its exorbitant price tag. We had expected to see a strong money-back guarantee based on the product’s cost but what we found was a return policy that expires after 30 days. Biotivia could have definitely improved the kind of guarantee they provide but we realize that a good guarantee usually comes with a manufacturer’s confidence in the results you will experience so that could explain why. Furthermore, we were also discouraged to see that they have an autoship option as it can be very difficult for customers to disentangle themselves from that commitment.

The Trans-Resveratrol here was derived from Japanese Knotweed, which is the preferred source for Resveratrol. However, we did not find any ingredient to aid the absorption of Trans-Resveratrol into the body. More concerning, this formula contains a proprietary blend.  

A proprietary blend will sound impressive to the average consumer. Indeed, the proprietary blend included here is called Pro-Longevity Factors Blend. Additionally, this manufacturer boasts that it contains Triactiv Technology. But what do these words mean? Nothing! These are not backed by clinical studies or scientific research. What they are, are made up scientific-sounding words by the manufacturer to lure in consumers. It is more important for manufacturers to be completely transparent on their labels and include a breakdown of ingredients with their doses. This is something that can be hidden in a proprietary blend. 

When we analyzed customer reviews we found many consumers were put off by how pricey this product is. While there are those who recommend this product, many others found similar products, without proprietary blends, that delivered the same results. Many times what will work for one person, will not work for another. This is why we recommend finding Resveratrol supplements with a money-back guarantee.
