Reserveage Nutrition Resveratrol Review
This review examines a product called Reserveage Nutrition Resveratrol. This Resveratrol product claims to activate the ‘longevity gene’ and comes in 4 hour sustained release pills. We analyzed the ingredients, the manufacturer and the customer reviews to come up with a comprehensive review of Reserveage Nutrition Resveratrol. Find out why we gave it the rating we did and if this is worth your hard-earned money.
As always, the first thing we look for in a Resveratrol product is the presence of Trans-Resveratrol. This is the most bioactive form of Resveratrol and the only one to look for in a quality supplement. We were pleased to see that this product does in fact include Trans-Resveratrol in its formula. However, the Trans-Resveratrol is found in a proprietary blend.
Why do proprietary blends set off alarms bells for us? Manufacturers come up with proprietary blends in order to make a secret formula that others cannot duplicate. So far, that doesn’t sound too bad. The concerning issue is that the FDA does not have any restrictions on these blends, so it is extremely difficult to know their safety level. Additionally, because there is no requirement for precise ingredient dosage within these blends, consumers cannot know how potent their supplements are.
When it comes to Resveratrol supplements, a huge factor is the purity and potency of Trans-Resveratrol. In Reserveage Nutrition Resveratrol, there is no mention of the purity found here. There are also no claims of pure and natural ingredients, which mean they are using fillers to bulk up their product.
On a positive note, this brand does offer an ingredient breakdown of what is found in their proprietary blend. It is:
- 500mg Trans-Resveratrol from Japanese Knotweed
- Organic French Whole Red Wine Grape
- Organic Muscadine Whole Red Grape
We are pleased to see that the Trans-Resveratrol here is derived from Japanese Knotweed as this is the preferred source for Resveratrol.
What we take issue with is that we don’t know how much is included of the other ingredients in this blend. The manufacturer boasts of having ‘Proprietary TriActiv Technology’ but all this means is that there are 3 ingredients found in this blend. We would prefer manufacturers that are transparent on their labels and websites rather than try and lure customers in with scientific terms that don’t actually mean anything.
This product contains a price tag that is on the more expensive end for Resveratrol products and therefore we were hoping to see a higher dose of Trans-Resveratrol as well as the addition of an ingredient to aid absorption of the Resveratrol in the body.
Where this product fails to impress us is with their return policy. While there is a section on the product’s website titled ‘shipping and refunds’ there is only information about shipping and nothing mentioned about refunds. A strong return policy is a manufacturer’s way of instilling confidence in the consumer. When there is none, it leaves consumers unclear as to what they can expect from this supplement. We are left feeling slightly disappointed in this product, to say the least.
Is Reserveage Nutrition Resveratrol Effective?
Since there is no money-back guarantee on Reserveage Nutrition Resveratrol, we needed to check customer reviews to ascertain the chances of this product working.
We found a fair amount of reviews. Some were positive. Many were not. Common complaints were that it was hard to tell if this product was working. Many people also mentioned that it was a pricey supplement and not worth the money.
Is Reserveage Nutrition Resveratrol Safe?
As with any new supplement or diet introduced into your daily life, we always advise talking to your healthcare professional about possible contraindications of any pre-existing medical conditions or medications that you are taking. Supplements work differently for everyone and the effects vary between individuals so it is always a good idea to run any health changes with a professional.
Summary
At first, Reserveage Nutrition Resveratrol appeared to have some of what we look for in a Resveratrol supplement. It contains 500mg of Trans-Resveratrol that is derived from Japanese Knotweed. However, upon closer inspection, we found many concerning items that make us hesitant to fully recommend this product.
We are uneasy with the inclusion of a proprietary blend. Using names such as ‘Proprietary TriActiv Technology’ communicates to the consumer that there is clinical research behind this name when in fact, it’s just a name that the manufacturer created to sound scientific.
We would have been more impressed if there had been a higher dose of Trans-Resveratrol. It is standard for many products to contain 500mg, but there are higher-quality Resveratrol supplements with double this amount.
We would have also liked to see the inclusion of an absorption agent in order to get the maximum amount of Trans-Resveratrol absorbed into the cells.
Finally, if we could turn to a solid money-back guarantee, we would have felt better about Reserveage Nutrition Resveratrol. However, even though there was a section titled ‘refunds’ on the website, there was actually no return policy listed there. When a manufacturer truly believes that their product will work, they offer a real money-back guarantee. Our other product reviewed, Approved Science Resveratrol, has one for 60 days with the option of returning open and empty bottles. For us, that says it all.
